The name DAKS
In 1933 Alec Simpson took over the business after his father´s death and decided to take the company into a new revolutionary direction by producing ready to wear collections. The trademark DAKS was also registered, which is thought to originate from a combination of the words “dad´s” and “slacks”
The DAKS House Check
In 1976 DAKS designed the DAKS House Check consciously choosing colours of camel and vicuna to represent luxurious fabrics and adding black as an elegant contrast. Today numerous of other checks are officially registered under the DAKS Simpson Group plc, adding a variety of visual expressions to the brand.
DAKS World wide
DAKS´ coat of arms says “Aspice Semel”, a motto which roughly translates as “One look”; since one look tells you it´s DAKS - and with flagship stores all over the World, DAKS may not be wrong about that.
